Common questions

Does MechanicAI send my data to the cloud?
No. MechanicAI runs entirely on your machine. Error messages and logs never leave your computer. The only external call is to your chosen LLM provider. Use Ollama and everything is 100% local.
Will it restart my agents without asking?
Yes — when Auto-Heal is enabled (the default). You can switch to diagnosis-only mode in Settings if you'd prefer to approve fixes manually.
My agent runs in Docker. Does this work?
Yes. MechanicAI detects Docker containers, injects config files directly inside them, and restarts containers automatically. Hermes, OpenClaw, and NanoClaw in Docker are fully supported.
Can I transfer my license to a new machine?
Yes. Email info@mechanicai.dev and we'll reset the binding within 24 hours. You can then activate on your new machine.
What if MechanicAI can't fix the problem?
It logs the full diagnosis in Fix Logs with a clear explanation. You can also ask it directly in Chat.
Does it work with agents not on the supported list?
Yes. Any agent that can make an HTTP POST request can call MechanicAI. No special integration required. See the docs for the API spec.
